Hyundai questions
Are Hyundai vehicles assembled in the United States?
Some are. Among the 8 Hyundai model pages we cover, 3 have US final assembly: 2026 Ioniq 9, 2026 Santa Cruz, 2026 Santa Fe. 2 are assembled outside the United States. Check the individual VIN for a particular car.
Does a Hyundai qualify for the car loan interest deduction?
It depends on the model and the individual vehicle. For example the 2026 Ioniq 9 has US final assembly and would pass the assembly test, while models assembled elsewhere would not. The other tests - new vehicle, loan taken out after December 31, 2024, personal use, first lien - apply on top.
Does the brand's home country matter?
No. The test is where the vehicle was finally assembled, not who owns the brand. Plenty of foreign-owned brands assemble in the United States, and US-owned brands assemble abroad.
